Meditation of Action

While there are many forms of meditation, each of the three presented in this series can be understood by its name and its simple description. My mind balks at complex explanations and my knowledge of meditations is entry-level. But through creativity, and with receptivity to inspiration, I have gleaned suitable practices. These three meditations are found in Discourses, a principal book by Meher Baba.*

The meditation of action is represented by an unreserved dedication of one’s life to the selfless service of a Perfect Master or of humanity.*

Composer and healer Stephen Michael Camp’s personal mission statement was “I only want to sing my songs to God.” Following his cancer surgery until he sang his last song to a hospital patient with cancer, Stephen maintained a continually increasing effort to educate himself about healing through sound. For five years, he served others with his spiritual songs. Encouraged by Reverend Carlos Anderson* (another man dedicated to selfless service), he wrote this song for Carlos and then took his music on the road.

Teach Only Love
We are all part of the one. We are all part of the son, part of the one. All part of the son, part of the one, part of the son. Oh, and Carlos, I wrote this song for you, my gift of feathers and stone, To tell you that you’re walking on the right path, To comfort you when you’re alone. Yes, to comfort you when you’re all alone.

And it’s love, love, love, all you teach is love. All you teach is love.

Some will see you as a savior. Some will see you as a star. Some won’t like you … they’ll see you as a stranger. Some will see you as you are. If you’re lucky, some will love you just as you are.
Sometimes you’ll feel sad and lonely. Sometimes you’ll be all alone. Every time you stumble and you get back up you know you show us all the way back home. Yes, you show us the way back home. And it’s love, love, love. All you teach is love.

The power of the Father’s within you, The faith of the Spirit too. The sun comes through you like rolling thunder Whose lightning has pierced you through and through. Yes, whose lightning has pierced you through and through.

Oh you love as a part of the Father. You live as a part of the Christ. You show us by example how to stand in the light. You create an earthly Paradise. You create an earthly Paradise. And it’s love, love, love. All you teach is love. All you teach is love.

Thank you for staying here with us. Thank you for walking ahead. Loving courage keeps you in the here and now, even in the face of death, even in the face of death. Oh, faith is the shield that protects you. Truth is the armor you wear. Love is the sword that you hold up high when you’re walking through the shadow of fear.

And it’s love, love, love. All you teach is love. All you give is love. We give you only love. We give you only love.

TEACH ONLY LOVE FOR THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE. (Spoken)
Oh, love, love, love. Give us only love. Give us only love. Teach us only love. Teach us only love.*
My realization is, “Endless giving inspires endless giving.”
