I'm Grateful
She bends her body
toward the rock
seeing beyond what I see
dried needles caught
in small crevasses different
from where life catches
me in momentary thought
I'm not okay.
I need the smoothness
of most days
when I awake
and looking up
find inspiration
then turn to where
the sun
is always there
above the clouds
and pray.
My realization is, "There are moments that catch our attention, cause us to pause, to let them stay longer, to not yet leave them behind, but let them linger in our mind."
