April in Italy: Through the Eyes of Valeria
ah, the incredible joy of rain this morning!
the light of fierce lightning woke me up again and again during the night, but
they were silent ones, not followed by the sound of heavy thunder, so I thought
the sky had to release the stressful energy of months of heat, excessive heat.
But now… how I welcome the sound of rain, its damp smell and the
grey low sky.
As soon as it started earlier on, I went to my little Rocca* garden to prune and
reduce the Rosemary bushes that were growing too much. I picked a ripe fig
from the tree that had been there when I began working on this small plot of
land, and enjoyed its sweet pulp. The rain began to increase, and I got totally
and happily drenched as I covered the short distance to my house!
It’s going to be such a good “stay home” day, conducive to thoughts,
memories, and thank you notes to the Beloved, perhaps some stretching
to help my muscles. Then a rich lunch of some sort, then a read of your
morning message with attention... later on.
My realization is, "An email from a friend may describe feelings, activities, and locale in such a way that they bring enjoyment to you, as if you too were there."
