A Child’s Love
When my granddaughter Eva was in pre-school, her mom sent an email Eva had dictated for Grammie Premmie.*
“This is a message from Eva.
I love you Grammie Premmie.
I love you very much.
You are the sweetest girl.
Love Eva XOXO”
My heart melted reading “the sweetest girl”—I was in my sixties. Earlier, visiting my daughter, riding, I’d heard Eva sing from her child’s seat behind her mom, while in front I listened as she made up songs that began with, “I love … ” followed by a name or an activity. Each was a love story I wished every heart in the world could hear.
My realization is, “We may receive the delightful gift of a child’s words of love that even surpasses our efforts.”
