A Meeting of Lightworkers
A lightworker is a soul who has incarnated to assist in bringing more light to the planet—light being the love, the harmony, the joy, the peace of God—who we really are.
One Sunday, when Stephen* was singing at Hope Church in Amherst, Rev. Carlos Anderson handed him a letter of introduction to churches in Florida, telling him he thought Stephen could tour and perform in these churches; Carlos had earlier performed there. Stephen contacted the ministers, and in 1992, we left on tour in his 1965 two-door, navy Saab with his guitar in back.
During this period, I had creative writing workshops in my home but arranged to travel with Stephen. We were new to everything we were experiencing—other than Stephen’s singing, which had our confidence.
At one church, as I turned toward a woman who wanted to speak to me, my body shifted to jerky movements. This may have happened before, but I didn’t yet understand what was happening, as I later would.
Fortunately, this woman realized that her energy was affecting me, and because of that she said to me, “You need to be in a lightworkers’ group.” I told her I didn’t know what that meant; her reply was to “just ask for a lightworkers’ group.”
Back home in Longmeadow, I said aloud, “I need a lightworkers’ group.” At the first evening writing workshop, as I passed Dave, seated on the sofa, he looked up and said, “I saw an ad in the Longmeadow News for a lightworkers’ group. The woman’s name is Bonnie. Do you want to go?” I stared in disbelief—and then answered, “Yes.”
My realization is, “Information resides within us and without us. Setting aside our knowledge to face what seems unbelievable opens new doors.”
